DigiByte block chance calculator for Scrypt and SHA-256d
Enter your hashrate and see how likely your rig is to find a DigiByte block, for both Scrypt and SHA-256d, using live network difficulty.
Most DigiByte calculators show daily revenue, and most of them only cover SHA-256d. I wanted the other number: how likely is my rig to actually find a block? So I built it, for Scrypt and SHA-256d, with live network difficulty from the pool.
How to read it
Blocks arrive randomly, so "one block every 12 days" does not mean day 12. The table shows the chance of finding at least one block within each window. It is 1 - e^(-t / average time), so a rig that averages one block a month still has about a 63% chance within 30 days, and a 37% chance of nothing at all.
The average time is difficulty × hashes per difficulty-1 / your hashrate. Both algorithms need 2^32 hashes per unit of the network difficulty the node reports. The network share assumes DigiByte's roughly 75 second block time per algorithm (five algorithms share the 15 second chain). It is an estimate, not a promise.
Why this matters on PotPool
A small rig will rarely find a block alone. In the pool, every block from either lane goes into the same syndicate pot, and you are credited by your real chance of finding blocks, so a Scrypt rig and a SHA-256d rig with equal odds earn equal claims. See how it works and the Scrypt lane post.
