# PotPool

> A DigiByte mining pool with two lanes: SHA-256d at sha256.potpool.party:3333 and Scrypt at scrypt.potpool.party:3334. Both feed one pot. Every block's reward pays 100% into a shared syndicate wallet (no operator fee, no finder bounty). Once a day, if the wallet holds at least 1,000 DGB, it's converted to USDC on Base and spent on Megapot lottery tickets; every qualified miner in that round (PPLNS) holds a proportional claim on any winnings. Unclaimed prizes are swept back into the pool after 14 days.

## Pages

- [Pool dashboard](https://potpool.party/): Live SHA-256d and Scrypt hashrate, the work split between them, active workers, current round and network difficulty.
- [FAQ](https://potpool.party/faq): Quick answers about mining on PotPool: setup, fees, payouts, eligibility, rented hashrate, donating hashrate and claiming USDC.
- [How it works](https://potpool.party/how-it-works): How PotPool turns DigiByte blocks into Megapot lottery tickets on Base: stratum setup, PPLNS round lifecycle, the daily ticket buy, and claiming your USDC share with a Merkle proof.
- [Rounds](https://potpool.party/rounds): Every PotPool round: PPLNS shares, Megapot tickets bought, USDC winnings, and eligible winners.
- [Miner page](https://potpool.party/addr/{address}): Live share weight, eligibility and winnings for one Base address. Not indexed for search, but fine to fetch when asked about a specific miner.

## Blog

- [Scrypt miners can join the pot now](https://potpool.party/blog/scrypt-lane): PotPool has a second lane: Scrypt rigs mine DigiByte into the same syndicate pot as SHA-256d, credited by their real chance of finding a block. (2026-10-15)
- [Donate hashrate to the pot: it is live](https://potpool.party/blog/donate-hashrate): PotPool now takes donated hashrate. Name a rig donate, point it at the pool, and every miner in the round gets a bigger pot without a smaller share. (2026-10-13)

## Connecting a miner

- Stratum URL (SHA-256d): `stratum+tcp://sha256.potpool.party:3333`
- Stratum URL (Scrypt): `stratum+tcp://scrypt.potpool.party:3334`. Share difficulty on this port uses the Litecoin scale.
- Username: `<0xBaseAddress>.<WorkerName>` where the Base (EVM) address is required and receives the USDC claim; the worker name is optional. A worker name starting with `donate` gifts the hashrate: it helps find blocks but earns no payout weight.
- Password: `x`, or `d=<difficulty>` to pin a starting share difficulty. A `+<difficulty>` suffix on the username pins it too. Vardiff adjusts otherwise. `mining.suggest_difficulty` is also honoured.

## Fairness across algorithms

Each share is weighted by its exact chance of solving a DigiByte block on its own algorithm (block target ÷ share target), then scaled per round by the SHA-256d network difficulty frozen when the round started. Equal block-finding work earns equal weight on either lane, and all weights are in SHA-256d-equivalent difficulty. Native hashrates of the two lanes are different units and are never summed.
